I met Khushi when she came in for her senior session design appointment. A girl with high aspirations and confidence, yet so calm, I was in awe of her personality and charm. We decided to do part of her session in studio to create some contemporary images showcasing her beautiful personality and style and part of the session outdoors in a dreamy, natural location to capture her love for mother nature.

We started the day with my team who glammed Khushi up with their hair and makeup artistry. Watching her transform into a diva was amazing! I had an absolute blast photographing her in the studio while she danced in frills and jammed with her guitar.  Since family is big part of who Khushi is at this stage in her life, we used the opportunity to create some images with her family as well. I love how they all turned out!

Khushi is an intelligent, beautiful soul. Here’s a little glimpse of who she is at this stage in her life, as a high school senior:

What are you looking forward to in life for the coming years?
Definitely a little bit of adventure away from the smaller towns that I grew up in
What is your favorite book and what have you learnt from it?
I love reading science books that teach me about the world we love in, especially books about astronomy
What’s on your bucket list?
My biggest dream for as long as I can remember has been to travel to every country in the world
In what ways is destiny responsible for the direction of your life?
Some things are just destined to be, whether we like it or not. Though things don’t always go the way I want, some things that went “wrong” are actually responsible for the best decisions I ever made.
When do you feel most alive?
I feel most alive when I am out with a few friends away from large crowds. I love when I’m outside and not completely alone, not trapped by walls or people around me.
What’s the worst thing about being a senior?
Over the last month, I’ve realized how much I’m going to miss Bentonville even though I was so eager to leave earlier in the year. I’m definitely sad that I’ll be leaving everything I’ve ever known behind.
If you had an extra $100 what would you buy?
A stack of books.
Do you have any bad habits you simply refuse to change?
I have a horrible habit of going to used book stores and spending all of my money on cheap books. I end up buying over 10 at a time at least twice a month, and I’ve read about 3 of them. Despite insistence from everyone I know to read the ones I have before buying new ones, I can’t stop myself.
What are your thoughts on friendship?
Friends are some of the most important people in my life right now and probably will always be. True friendship is something that lasts a long time and not a passing connection between two people.
Your favorite song this year that you could listen to on repeat?
I’ve been listening to a lot of older music from when I was in elementary school recently, so basically any song from the 2000s. I’ve found myself feeling extremely nostalgic as of late.
What memory are you going to remember forever about your time at BHS?
Just the time I get to spend with my friends. I don’t have classes with many of my friends anymore, so I treasure the few moments that I get to spend with them, like at lunch or during our pep rallies. These are the memories that I’ll look back at years from now.
What are you passionate about?
I’m really big on empowerment and giving everyone a voice. I think everyone, no matter their age or any personal attribute, deserves the same say as everyone else.
